ONO AXE - Professional

 The small and compact SILKY ONO axe is a camper's best friend and is fantastic for clearing trails, cutting firewood, and using when hunting or in the outdoors. It is light enough to carry anywhere while also being beautifully balanced and heavy enough to cut through the toughest of jobs. The mono-constructed (one-piece) special alloy steel blade is super strong and is designed to have no weak points. It will keep its edge for a long period of time even with continuous use. The special Silky patented Genki Rubber hand grip is designed to reduce impact on your hands and absorbs the shock when cutting. And if you ever need to replace the blade, the hand grip peels apart enabling you to remove and replace a new one easily.

The ONO is ideal for de-limbing or chopping and splitting wood and is also great for splitting a carcass down the backbone. 

*Ono - the Japanese meaning of the word Ono can vary depending on context; however it translates primarily to "axe". When used as a name it can refer to field, plain or wilderness. 

Maintenance:
Although the blade on this tool is made from the highest quality Japanese steel and is coated with a hard electroless nickel plating that is resistant to rust and the effects of resin, it may still rust if not properly maintained.

We recommend you clean the blade with warm soapy water and a light brush to remove tree sap. For anything heavier, you can use our Yanipika Sap and Resin cleaner. After drying your blade thoroughly, to prevent oxidation and maintain a smooth cutting feel, we also recommend you oil the blade. You can use our Camellia Oil for this. Once your maintenance is complete, store your tool away in a moisture free place.
