If you typed "Silky Store" into your browser and landed here, you're in exactly the right place. Silky Store NZ is now Sharpr. Same people, same phone number, same full range of genuine Silky saws, blades and parts. Just a sharper name (and an extended range of excellent brands).
Why we changed our name
For more than 20 years, our wholesale business, Silex Tools, has been bringing Silky saws into New Zealand for arborists, orchardists, commercial growers and the retailers who supply them. Silky Store NZ was the online home for that range, making the same quality tools more accessible to tradies, home growers, handimen (and women) and lifestyle block owners. Silky Store NZ name made perfect sense when Silky was most of what we sold.
Then the toolbox got bigger. Alongside professional quality horticultural hand tools we've always sold (Italian made secateurs & loppers, olive harvesters from Europe), we extended our range to include the world's best Hand-forged Japanese kitchen knives and Lucano step stools for the home. Calling all of that "Silky Store" started to feel a bit like calling a hardware shop "Hammer House".
Sharpr says what ties it all together: tools made by the world's best makers, for people who know the difference. Sharper design. Sharper material. Sharper service.
What hasn't changed
- The full Silky range. From the pocket-sized Pocketboy to the Katanaboy, plus the Zubat, Gomboy, Hayauchi pole saws and Hibiki woodworking saws.
- Genuine blades and parts. Sharpr is the only place in New Zealand where you can buy the full range of Silky saws, accessories and spare parts. A worn blade means a new blade, not a new saw.

What's new
We've organised the site around how you work. Workspace gathers our Commercial & Trades tools: pruning saws, secateurs, harvesting gear, tying systems and industrial cutters. Homespace is for the home, garden and kitchen: Japanese knives, garden tools, step stools and gifts.
