DESCRIPTION

The MARUYOSHI FLAX CUTTER is a great hand tool for cutting all fibrous plants, like flax leaves, cabbage tree leaves, toe toe and pampas. It is lightweight made from Japanese high-quality carbon steel and has a heat-treated blade with a reinforced back bar for added strength and stability.

This flax cutter is not a wood saw, and the serrated blade works best when the tool is pulled back towards the user, using a slicing motion.

MAINTENANCE

Although the blade on this tool is made from high-carbon Japanese steel, to keep it working effectively, we recommend cleaning it with warm soapy water after each use to prevent dirt and debris form accumulating. Regular maintenance will keep your tools sharp making sure you have clean and precise cuts every time.

If residue has built up over time, our Yanipika Sap and Resin Cleaner should return your blade to good working order. And after drying, we recommend applying our special purpose Mineral and Camellia Oil to help with extra protection from rust and corrosion.

After your maintenance is complete, ensure your tool is thoroughly dry before storing away in a moisture free spot.
