DESCRIPTION

The SILKY SUGOWAZA is a large sheath saw with a 420mm blade designed for serious jobs. The blade is tapered from the tooth tip to the back spine to reduce resistance and deliver smoother, easier, and faster cutting performance. And the chrome finished slip guard is specifically designed to protect gloves from accidental cuts and the mono constructed blade runs all the way through the handle, eliminating stress and breakage.

The extra-large progressive teeth configuration has smaller teeth at the handle end of the saw to assist in starting the cut quicker, and larger teeth at the end of the blade to provide more aggressive cutting as you progress through your cut. And the curve blade cuts faster than a straight blade by diving into the wood fibers quicker and more effectively.

*Sugowaza - the Japanese meaning of the word Sugowaza means "great skill" or "amazing".

MAINTENANCE

Although the blades on these saws are made from the highest quality Japanese steel and are coated with a hard electroless nickel plating (a uniform, hard, corrosion-resistant finish that uses a chemical reaction rather than electricity during manufacturing), they may still be affected by rust and resin if not properly maintained.

We recommend you clean these blades with warm soapy water and a light brush to remove tree sap and small wood chips after each use. For anything heavier (or if you've let residue build up over time), our Yanipika Sap and Resin cleaner should return your blade to good working order.

After drying your blade thoroughly, we also recommend applying our special purpose Mineral and Camellia Oil for added protection and then store your tool away in a moisture free place.
