The MARUYOSHI NISAKU HORI HORI WEEDER is one of the most versatile Japanese garden tools that combines multiple functions into one tool. It features a curved blade with one sharp edge for cutting and one serrated edge for sawing through roots and tough vegetation.

The blade is made from tempered Stainless Steel and is ideal for digging, weeding. transplanting, cutting roots, and general subterranean rummaging. And originally used for harvesting wild plants and preparing soil, this weeder has evolved into a gardening tool that everyone should own.

Sometimes called a 'soil knife' or 'weeding knife', the name "Hori-Hori" is derived from the Japanese word "Hori", meaning "to dig", and the repetitive "Hori-Hori" mimics the sound of digging.

Although the blade on this tool is made from high-quality Japanese steel, to keep it working effectively, we recommend cleaning it with warm soapy water after each use to prevent dirt and debris form accumulating. Regular maintenance will keep your tools sharp making sure you have clean and precise cuts every time.

If residue has built up over time, our Yanipika Sap and Resin Cleaner should return your blade to good working order. And after drying, we recommend applying our special purpose Mineral and Camellia Oil to help with extra protection from rust and corrosion.

After your maintenance is complete, ensure your tool is thoroughly dry before storing away in a moisture free spot.
